Many people with some Android handsets are having problem that they are not able to play their downloaded DVDRip movies and their whole collection just went into the bin. Their Android handset is not supporting avi, mkv, mp4 or divx format. Samsung Galaxy S I guess is the only Android handset which has a DIVX support by default in it, and from now on new handsets will have this support. Mozilla Firefox removed the status bar / page load progress bar /download status bar from the newest version Firefox 4. I have no idea why they did it, but unfortunately they removed the status bar from Firefox 4. The reason most probably is to give more space to the content of the website rather than toolbars. I used to love it, and it was kind of help that you could determine that how much is the website loaded.

Today Apple released the newer version of Apple iOS 4.3.1 for iPhones 4 and 3GS, iPads 1 and 2, and generation 3 and 4 of iPod Touch. The update is not yet available for the customers of iPhone Verizon CDMA. The update is available through iTunes too, but we have direct link to the .ipsw files for you to download and install iOS4.3.1 manually.

Recently Apple released the upgrade to Mac OS X with the newer version Mac OS X 10.6.7 snow leopard, and the plans for launching the version 10.7 is on its way. The new Mac OS X Lion has new concepts and features and Apple has a very attractive tagline too “The power of Mac OS X. The magic of iPad”. This tagline clearly shows that the new Mac OS X will have something to do more with the touchscreen, or touchpad.

Microsoft invested a huge amount of 7.5million USD in purchasing the IPv4 addresses from Nortel, which is a dying company and has been declared bankrupt in January 2009.

RIM today in a press released confirmed that BlackBerry which is due to launch on 19th April 2011 in U.S. and Canada will run both BlackBerry Java apps and Android v2.3 apps. BlackBerry will provide two ‘app players’, one for BB java apps and one for android apps so that users can enjoy both on one tablet.

Just after less than 48 hours after the release of Firefox 4 the Mozilla Firefox team released the next version of Firefox for the developers to work on it. Firefox 4.2 alpha 1 is available for download at Firefox Nightly for the developers. So the Firefox team is skipping the version 4.1 and directly jumping on to version Firefox 4.2 is what I see from the nightly latest trunk.

Firefox 4, the new version of Firefox released on 22nd March, got 7.1 million downloads worldwide in 24 hours. So, if someone asks, How many times Firefox 4 was downloaded in 24hours? You got the answer, its 7.1 million. But still wasn’t good enough to break the record of its predecessor Firefox 3. A year ago Firefox 3 came out and made its way to Genesis Book of Record with the highest downloads of 8 million in 24 hours.
