Nokia today on World Mobile Conference 2012 announced an amazing new smartphone. The only thing that you have to hear about this phone is “41 megapixel camera“. Yes, this is Nokia 808 PureView. To-date we only have 8megapixel cameras rolling out the market with the smartphones, and just couple of them got 16 megapixel. Nokia just got the break through from all the phone manufacturers and introduced the biggest megapixel camera sensor in a phone ever.
Yesterday at Nokia World 2011 the long awaited smartphone was launched. The first Windows Phone 7.5 based Nokia handset called Nokia Lumia 800. The shape of the handset is the same as Nokia N9 but inside, instead of MeeGo it has the new Windows 7.5 Mango. The handset has the amazing 1.4Ghz processor with 512MB of Ram.
For two weeks I got the chance to get my hands on Nokia X7-00 and review it. Nokia X7-00 is a super phone and I loved it’s looks. The beautiful metallic body and AMOLED gorilla glass screen giving a crystal clear look (watch the Nokia X7 gorilla glass screen scratch test video here) and 8MP camera. I recorded a video sample with Nokia X7-00 and the output was super amazing in the day light. The colors were very sharp and clear which made me say ‘WOW’. See the sample video test of Nokia X7-00 here:
Yesterday I posted the first hands-on photos of Nokia X7. Today I did the Gorilla Glass screen scratching and break test. I have recorded the video and used a sharp key, edge of the USB cable and the sharp corner of the paper clip pin. The body of Nokia X7 is very beautiful and perfectly built and without any doubt Nokia is still one of the best mobile phone manufacturing companies. Nokia X7 is loaded with Symbian Anna OS which is quite impressive for me as they have improved it a lot. Nokia X7 is equipped with 8MP camera, record videos at 720p @25fps and the most attractive part is its metallic solid body and the AMOLED gorilla glass screen. 680 MHz ARM 11 processor, Broadcom BCM2727 GPU, 256MB Ram and 1GB of ROM. See below to check first hands-on photos of Nokia X7-00:
Nokia is coming back into the news again and the most rumored smartphone has finally made its way through. A colorful Nokia N9 is equipped with 1GHz Cortex A8 CP and has a PowerVR SGX530 GPU. The rumors were about its QWERTY keypad too but unfortunately it does not have it. The most interesting thing about N9 is the colorful look of it’s back-panel. Steve Ballmer (CEO, Microsoft) and Stephen Elop (CEO, Nokia) today (11th Feb. 2011) had a joint press conference. The conference started at 2AM PST and ended up at 2:45AM PST, in which they announced their new joint venture to work together. Nokia will have Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 operating system as their core OS for the next generation smartphones. Watch the recorded webcast of the press conference here.
I wrote an article a month ago that will I buy Nokia N8 or E7 and I preferred buying Nokia N8. The condition was only that, if I am going to buy a Symbian phone. Otherwise, if I have an open choice, obviously I will not look at the 680mhz processor of N8, rather go for someone 1ghz processor smartphone with more ram and features; may be Android based. Nokia was one of the best cellphone manufacturer once.
The first question even that comes before the one I mentioned in the title is whether I am going to buy a symbian smartphone or not? I guess, my question to is only validated if and only if I’m ready to buy a symbian phone. By the way, Android powered smartphones are on my first priority list. So, will it be Nokia N8 or E7 is the real question. Following the comparison of both the phones.
