Google previously attempted twice to enter into the social network market after having a huge success and then failure of Orkut which was not of Google initially, but later was adopted by Google. Google then dipped their fingers in with Google Wave which was a very unique and great thing, but was left out again and finally Google had to end that project too. Microsoft developed the bing search engine and marketed it at extreme so that they could somehow come close to the search engine market of google. Recently in this week facebook brought a major change in the interface of the home, profile and pages design. At the very first sight I liked it, but later after using it for half an hour I realized it sucks big time. This is the third time facebook has changed its interface. There are alot of things missing in this new interface of facebook which made its repute the worst.

The release of Live Wave 3 was announced yesterday at CES2009 by Microsoft. The personalized homepage of Live has also changed. It is not just a simple blog type or news type of page anymore. Home.Live.com is more of a social network type of site. You can see your emails, friends activity, see your blog posts and even your twitter, stumbleupon and other web events.
Facebook launched more than a new iPhone app this evening – they also have a new home page (the page you see when you aren’t logged in) and a new tagline. Gone is all the descriptive language suggesting you sign up to “Keep up with friends and family,” “Share photos and videos,” “Control privacy online,” and “Reconnect with old classmates.” Now Facebook has a simple message to entice you to sign up: “Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life.”
