Yahoo’s new homepage is awesome

Yahoo LogoRecently Yahoo.com announced a newer version of their homepage. The new version of the Yahoo homepage is much more interactive, flexible and easy to use. I always had a problem bookmarking or make any page as a homepage of my browser. I mean usually Live.com (formally MSN.com) or Yahoo, or Facebook or Orkut, and so on.. there were so many website which had that button of “Make it your Homepage”, but I never cared because there was nothing of my interest in there.

Google New Search Page – SearchWiki

On 20th November 2008, Google introduced a new feature with their search engine called SearchWiki. Many of you must have seen a three new icons with each result that you get in the search engine (you need to log in to your google account to see it). Google is giving it all in the hands of its users to customize everything they want to.

1. Do you know that the name “Google” is a typo? Initially the founders of the site thought that they were going for “Googol”.

2. Are you aware of the fact why Google page is so simple? Its because the founders really didn’t know about HTML and so they wanted a quick interface.

3. Co-founders of Google.com, Mr. Larry Page and Mr. Sergey Brin started Google as a research project when they were 24 and 23 years respectively. Isn’t is very encouraging?

Xobni 4024 beta

Xobni is a plug-in for Outlook. With the help of Xobni you can search your emails and people quite fast. Whatever you are looking for immediately popups up as you type. For instance you are searching for the emails from ‘Jones’. Start typing Jones and automatically as you type the alphabets the search result starts to filter out.

Google Audio Indexing (aka GAudi)

Google two months ago introduced a new technology in the video search. They are still testing it and that kind of search is only available on the US Political videos.

With Google Labs GAudi, now you dont have to search videos with the title of the video, or tags, instead GAudi searches the AUDIO of the video. It uses the Text-to-Video speech recognition technology. When you search anything with GAudi, Google actually search the words which are spoken inside the video and give you the relavent result.
