Gmail has a very unique and cool feature with the usernames. Previously wrote an article “Gmail Bug With UserID” but after getting the response from users and my friends, I realized I made a mistake and the article was totally wrong. Gmail does not have a bug, rather it is a unique feature with its usernames. If you have an account username@gmail.com then user.name@gmail.com or username+something@gmail.com are referred to the same username.

Today I received an email on my non-gmail account (the alternative email set in my gmail) with the link to reset the password of my gmail account. I never requested for the password reset, and I was amazed about that. The interesting thing was the email mentioned the gmail id in it for which the password reset request was made but it was not my ID. My gmail id is talalmasood but the password reset request which was made was for talal.masood. (CORRECTION TO MY THIS ARTICLE IS “GOOGLE USERNAME WITH UNIQUE FEATURE)

Recently Yahoo.com announced a newer version of their homepage. The new version of the Yahoo homepage is much more interactive, flexible and easy to use. I always had a problem bookmarking or make any page as a homepage of my browser. Google today announced officially the launch of the first Operating System by Google called “Google Chrome OS” and yes, its an Open Source Operating System. It is designed specially for the netbooks, as Google see an avalanche of netbooks coming into the market in the coming years. Google Chrome OS will be able to run on any x86 machine as well as the mobile AMR processor. Further Google said that the final version of the OS will be available in the market by the second half of year 2010. Google said that all the applications of Google Chrome OS will be web-based.
