’)Windows Live Hotmail Finally Got Free Pop3 Access
After a week long rumors about the Free pop3 access from Microsoft Windows Live Hotmail. Today Microsoft officially confirmed about this. Yes! Windows Live Hotmail now have the free Pop3 access. Back in year 1999 when it was only called HOTMAIL, it used to have the pop3 access but after Microsoft took over the Hotmail and brought it under the MSN title they removed the pop3 access from Hotmail and was only giving it to the paid premium members.
Microsoft was only giving the Pop3 access to the paid members who pay them yearly and the other way was if you use Windows Live Outlook. Finally today Microsoft said that they have made the pop3 feature free for the Hotmail users in United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. They are planing to expand it and will make it free for all the world within this current year.
Following are the pop3 settings for Windows Live Hotmail:
- POP server: pop3.live.com
- POP SSL required? Yes
- User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
- Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
- Port: 995
- SMTP server: smtp.live.com
- Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
- TLS/SSL required? Yes
